Introduction
The aim of the study programme is to further develop the students’ professional skills and knowledge in working with children aged three and under.
Target Group and Admission Requirements
The study programme is primarily aimed at students enrolled on the Pre-School Teacher Education programme who have completed 2 years of study (120 ECTS), and who are going to take a specialisation course in their third year. It may also be of interest to external students who have completed their pre-school teacher education. Other students, who have studied pedagogy as part of their foundation studies or as a supplementary subject, and with the relevant practical experience working with children, may also apply for admission. Relevant practical training will approved on an individual basis.
Aim of the Programme
The study programme is aimed at those who want to work in a professional capacity with the children aged three and under. The programme will equip students with new knowledge regarding recent research related to this age group. The aim of the programme is to develop the students’ insight and professional skills in work with young children.
Curriculum and structure

The programme is comprised of two components of 15 ECTS each.
1. Social Interaction, Play and Learning.
2. Approaches to Children and Childhood, and the Role of Adults
Other subjects will be included as part of component 1 and comprise 6 ECTS.
