Target Group and Admission Requirements
The study programme is intended for students who seek a greater understanding of innovation and its underlying processes. A large portion of the study programme involves project work in which the students work in groups on their own ideas and problem approaches, or those of others. Upon completing the study programme, students will possess a good foundation for starting their own businesses, advising others or doing creative work in larger enterprises.
Aim of the Programme
The study programme will provide students with a solid understanding of enterprise development and the subjects and skills which support these processes. Entrepreneurship as a social phenomenon will also be discussed.
Further Education opportunities
The study programme qualifies students for further studies at the Master’s degree level in Norway and abroad.

The study programme is associated with the 3-year Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Administration, and shares some of its courses with this study programme. The study programme also shares some of its other courses with other study programmes at the university college.
The entire study programme consists of 180 ECTS credits, divided into 30 ECTS credits per semester. Successful candidates will receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The study programme is divided into courses that usually last 1 to 2 semesters with 3-10 teaching hours per week.
Each course provides ECTS credits that correspond to the amount of work the course requires.
The study programme offers suggestions for the choice of elective courses. However, students may freely choose elective courses within the university college’s study programme; for more information, see the other study programmes at the university college. However, the study programme timetable and examination plan may restrict this choice. In some contexts, it will be important to make sure you choose the right elective courses to ensure it is possible to gain admission to other study programmes.
Study trips involving preparatory and follow-up work are an important and obligatory part of the study programme. Students should expect to pay the whole or part of the trip costs themselves.

Teaching and Learning Methods
A variety of teaching and learning methods will be used in the courses which are included in the study programme, including: lectures, seminars, group assignments, individual assignments and study trips. Traditional teaching methods may be supplemented by the active use of e-mail, online tools and databased model tools.
Theory and Practical Training
The study programme has a theoretical basis, but emphasis will be given to using practical examples as far as possible in programme instruction. In the last semester of the third year of study it will be possible to choose between a practical approach and a theoretical approach. During this semester studies and practical work may be conducted abroad.
Assessment Methods
Candidates’ knowledge of all the courses in the study programme will be evaluated. The university college will use a variety of assessment methods. The types of assessment used are explained in the individual course descriptions.
